JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

In the midst of a search for missing soldiers involved in a flooding accident at Fort Hood, Texas, an Arkansas National Guard spokesman announced Arkansas soldiers stationed at the post were not harmed.

“Our condolences go out to the families and those involved in the tragedy at Fort Hood yesterday,” said Lt. Col. Joel Lynch, Arkansas National Guard spokesman. “None of our Arkansas National Guard soldiers were involved in the incident.”

Over 200 soldiers from Arkansas’ 77th Combat Aviation Brigade arrived at the army post last week to undergo training for their upcoming 9-month deployment to Kuwait and other areas of the Middle East.

The soldiers will be in Kuwait to conduct security, cooperation, joint exercises and training.
