TYRONZA, AR -

An annual festival set for the weekend brings new events along with town traditions.

The 14th annual Tyronza Stars & Stripes Festival is June 9 through the 11.

Carnival rides start Thursday, June 9, from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.

An armband for the rides cost $10.

Friday’s events include carnival rides, the Veterans Dinner, fireworks, and music provided by Tanner Brown.

Saturday, June 11, events take place all day kicking off at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the fire department.

This year is also the 90th anniversary for the city of Tyronza.

A cake-decorating contest in honor of the anniversary will take place at the Tyronza Senior Center at 12:30 p.m Saturday.

A new event for the festival is Tyronza’s Amazing Race, also on Saturday.

The race will include 10 stops around the city with challenges at each associated with the history of Tyronza.
