JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A judge found probable cause Friday to charge a 69-year-old Jonesboro man with second-degree sexual assault.

According to court documents, Clarence Cooper is accused of molesting three girls over the span of several years.

The youngest victim told investigators Cooper would put his hands in her underwear and fondled her, the affidavit stated.

“On occasion, she stated he would have her touch him on his privates,” the document said.

Following interviews with the victims, Detective Mike Branscum questioned Cooper.

During the interview, Branscum said Cooper admitted to “touching or fondling” each of the three victims over the last few years.

Cooper also reportedly admitted to having the youngest child place her hand on his penis, Branscum told the court.

Cooper is free on $50,000 bond awaiting a July 29 appearance in circuit court.

If convicted, he could be fined up to $15,000 and be sentenced to 5 to 20 years in prison.
