JONESBORO, AR - Vietnam veterans of Region 8 will be the guests of honor Sunday afternoon at a special reception and program at St. Bernard's Auditorium in downtown Jonesboro sponsored by the Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation.

The event begins at 12:30 and will feature refreshments and entertainment.  Craighead County Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Nicky D. Bacon will deliver the keynote address at the event.  Bacon was awarded the CMH for heroic combat action in Vietnam.

Vietnam veteran and retired Marine Bob Wamble will serve as master of ceremonies for the event.

"We will give special recognition to those who served in Vietnam.  Also, millions of people served during the years that America was involved in Vietnam, but they served here in America or places like Korea and Germany.  We want every veteran to attend and to feel welcome," said Monument Foundation spokesman Ted Pylant.
