JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Batesville man has been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 50 years in prison.

According to court documents, Christopher Lyons pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday.

He was sentenced to 30 years for the murder charge and 20 years for a possession of a firearm charge.

Lyons was arrested in November 2015 in connection with the death of Sarah Lindsey.

According to Batesville Police Chief Alan Cockrill, Lindsey worked at the Tobacco Warehouse. That is where the shooting happened.

A customer discovered Lindsey inside the business and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say she was shot “multiple times” by Lyons.

At the time of the arrest, police said they received a call shortly after the shooting from a witness stating a friend called him claiming to have shot his ex-wife at the Tobacco Warehouse.
