Two arrested on several charges in Forrest City

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) -

Forrest City police arrested two men Wednesday on drug and fleeing charges.

According to a press release from the Forrest City Police Department, officers tried to stop a silver 2006 Nissan Altima just before 7:30 Wednesday evening.

The vehicle stopped at the corner of Division Street and Franklin Avenue.

When officers got out of their patrol cars, the driver, Antonio Jordan, 28, drove away from the officers.

The passenger, Jeremy Canada, 26, ran off after the vehicle stopped on Gorman Street.

Police eventually caught both suspects and conducted a search. According to the release, officers found 268.45 grams of marijuana, hydrocodone pills, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Jordan and Canada were taken to the Forrest City Police Department and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the purpose to deliver, improper display, hindering apprehension, failure to stop, proximity to certain facilities, and drug paraphernalia.

Jordan was also charged with fleeing in a vehicle and Canada was charged with fleeing on foot.
