Community Celebrates EarthDay

April 16, 2005--Posted 4:00 pm CDT

Jonesboro, AR--Kids from all over the area went inside to celebrate Earth Day 2005.  A magician and snakes were on hand to give a helping hand at the Jonesboro Library for the event.  Not all events were inside, however, as a live band played outside.  Lunch was also served outside.

The event was designed to educate people on how they can make the planet a better place.  Booths on recycling and planting were scattered throughout the library fovusing on these details.

The KAIT-Wood Ford StormTracker was also on hand for anyone to check out.  It was a big hit.  The event was scheduled to last from10 am to Noon.   At noon free lunches were served courtesy of the Outback Steakhouse.
