West Plains officers help stranded motorist

WEST PLAINS, MO (KAIT) - An out-of-town motorist with a flat tire got some much needed help from the West Plains Police Department and a local business in West Plains.

West Plains Police Officer Ivie Powell stopped to help a stranded motorist in front of the West Plains Police Department of Friday.

The driver said she did not have any money to fix her flat tire and was trying to make arrangements to have someone come and help her.

A couple of West Plains officers offered to pay to have the tire fixed so she could get back on the road.

Officers took the tire to Tony's Tire Service in West Plains to get it fixed.

Officers explained the situation to the workers at Tony's Tire Service and they stepped up to fix the tire for free.

Officer Powell put the repaired tire back on the driver's car and she was back on the road in to time.
