Separate crashes send three to hospital

(KAIT) - Separate crashes Sunday sent three people to the hospital, two with serious injuries.

The first crash occurred at 6:05 a.m. on U.S. Highway 67 at Highway 142 in Neelyville, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Tommy D. Aden, 53, of Corning was southbound when his 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup truck struck a guardrail and concrete bridge.

The truck then overturned and caught fire.

Aden, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with serious injuries.

His passenger, 51-year-old Regina Aden, was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. MSHP reports she was wearing a seat belt.

The second crash occurred at 11:25 a.m. on Route Z, two miles south of Braggadocio.

MSHP said Angela Poe, 57, of Kennett was southbound when her 1998 Jeep Cherokee ran off the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Poe suffered serious injuries and was flown to St. Bernards Medical Center.

According to the report, it was unknown if she was wearing a seat belt.
