Convicted murderer spotted near AR prison he escaped

LEE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

UPDATE: The Monroe County Sheriff's Department states on their Facebook page that convicted murderer Lloyd Jones was spotted near the prison he escaped.

He is being tracked by the prison dog unit the post also states.

In addition, the FBI in Little Rock is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the capture of Jones.


The search continues for a man convicted of first-degree murder escaped from a Lee County, Arkansas prison Monday morning.

According to the Arkansas Department of Correction, 40-year-old Lloyd Jones escaped the East Arkansas Regional Correctional Facility in Brickeys.

On Tuesday, the ADC released more recent photos of the man. 

A Sebastian County jury sentenced Jones to 60 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to killing a teenaged Van Buren girl.

According to the Fort Smith Times Record, Jones also pleaded guilty to three counts of child pornography and abuse of a corpse.

Jones is described as a 6’0” white male, weighing 175 pounds.

He has various tattoos of dragons, flames, wizards, and crosses on his back and upper left arm.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call their local law enforcement or 911 immediately.
