Names released in deadly fire, investigation continues

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble confirmed to Region 8 News the names of one person killed in a deadly fire last week.

Tribble confirmed Brandon Dillard died in the fire, while Melissa Pfeifer was injured.

The victims were found when deputies and firefighters responded to a structure fire at a home on Buxton Road south of Maynard.

Tribble said firefighters arrived on the scene of the fire at approximately 3:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9. When the arrived, they could see fire on the west side of the home.

Tribble also said it appeared a wooden addition received the most extensive damage.

Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigation, although the circumstances of what happened remain under investigation.
