Jonesboro man charged with rape of 13-year-old

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man is charged with rape after police say he had sex with a 13-year-old girl.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an officer responded to a civil standby on April 21.

A man wanted to confront Christopher McGuire, 18, for having sex with his teenaged daughter.

The father told police his daughter had gone to McGuire's house for a sleepover on April 8.

Since then, the father had been contacted anonymously by another concerned parent stating that his 13-year-old daughter had sexual intercourse with McGuire.

The girl was interviewed by an officer with the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division and admitted she had consensual sex with McGuire.

She told the officer she, along with two other friends, went to his house after school.

They reportedly laid together in McGuire's bed watching television when they began kissing, eventually taking their clothes off and having sex.

McGuire appeared in district court Monday and was formally charged with felony rape of a person less than 14 years of age.

He is expected back in court July 29. His bond was set at $2,500.

He was ordered not to contact the victim or come within 100 yards of her.
