JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - One man tried to break-in to several cars in a quiet neighborhood and the whole thing was caught on tape.

Early Monday morning, police responded to a call on Jamaica Place about several car break-ins.

One homeowner, Greg Carter, has an at-home security system with outside cameras that caught the suspect trying to get into several cars.

Carter said the suspect did not get into any of his cars, but after his neighbor across the street had some money stolen from hers he checked his cameras.

"I said 'well let me check' and didn't think twice about it but then like 15 or 20 minutes later I started looking through my phone at the video and sure enough there he was," Carter said.

Carter told Region 8 News the cameras show the suspect trying to open several cars along the street, including both of his.

Neighbors in this area said they are shocked this happened because the street is normally very quiet.

"We haven't has an incident like this in years, and normally it is real quiet and peaceful," Carter said.

Carter and other neighbors filed police reports on the incident and he gave police the videos.

He is happy nothing of his was taken, but he said it does bug him that someone came onto his property and tried to break in.
