JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Put on your dancing shoes and best costume for a Sock Hop benefiting the Miracle League of Jonesboro.

The Fraternal Order of the Eagles is sponsoring the 50s themed event.

It’s Saturday, June 18, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles location at 1708 Caraway Road in Jonesboro.

There will be dance contests for all ages plus a prize for best male and female costume.

Food will be available for purchase including hamburgers, root beer floats, shakes, and nachos.

Children are welcome from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

No alcohol will be sold during that time, but once children leave drinks will be available for adults.

All of the proceeds benefit the Miracle League of Jonesboro.

Sharon Turman, with the Miracle League of Jonesboro, said while the Miracle League Field is a reality, they are always working to add more programs for the children.

Turman said they are working now to add soccer. They are in need of money to buy soccer goals and equipment.

The event will also offer a live and silent auction along with a bake sale to raise additional funds.

There is no charge to get in, but donations are appreciated.
