Randolph County and Independence County -

Two Region 8 counties continue their efforts to get the wet/dry issue on the November ballot.

Groups in Randolph and Independence Counties have been collecting signatures for months in an effort to get the measure on the ballot.

So far, "Keep Revenue in Randolph County" has received more than $62,000 in campaign contributions.

"Keep Our Dollars in Independence County” has received more than $104,000 according to documents filed through the Arkansas Ethics Commission.

According to those documents, most of that money came from Walmart.

Much of the money has been used to pay canvassers, purchase advertising and receive campaign consulting.

The signatures needed to get the issue on the ballot must be submitted to the state by July 8.

If they submit enough valid signatures, the issue will then be placed on the November ballot.
