JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police are searching for two suspects who ran over an officer during their getaway.

While working off-duty security at Dillard's, 3000 E. Highland, Tuesday night Officer Chris Poe saw a black man and woman running out of the store with $4,000 worth of Rock Revival jeans, according to the initial incident report.

The couple got into a silver Jeep Renegade with Illinois license plates and started to drive off.

Poe said he grabbed the door handle and attempted to pull the male suspect from the back seat when the woman hit the gas and drove over Poe's left foot.

The Jeep sped across the Mall at Turtle Creek parking lot before turning south onto Red Wolf Boulevard.

Poe reported the incident to dispatch, but officers were unable to find the suspects' vehicle.

Anyone with information on this case should call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP (7867).
