Two children seriously injured in ATV crash

BUTLER COUNTY, MO (KAIT) -

Two children suffered serious injuries when the ATV they were riding collided with a van.

The crash happened shortly after 9:30 Thursday morning on Highway 51, one mile west of Fisk.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mikel E. Crawford, 61, of Fisk was attempting to cross the road in his 2007 Kawasaki Mule when he was struck by 1997 Chrysler Town and Country driven by 62-year-old Elizabeth L. McIntosh of Fisk.

Crawford and one of his passengers, 67-year-old Lynn D. Vandermark of Broseley, suffered moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Two children riding the ATV, 5-year-old Tucker C. Emmons and 7-year-old Ty M. Emmons, both of Fisk, suffered serious injuries. The boys were flown to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

According to the crash report, none of the victims was wearing a safety device.
