Dog bite sends child to Jonesboro hospital

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro police said a dog bit a 6-year-old girl Thursday evening, sending her to the hospital.

It happened in the 2100-block of Clark Street.

The young girl and her sister went to a neighbor's house to ask a friend to come eat with them.

According to the police report, the neighbor's dog ran out of the house and bit the 6 year old on her hip.

The mother took her daughter to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital to be treated.

Police cited the dog's owner for no state rabies and the dog was ordered to be quarantined for 10 days.

It will be quarantined at a medical clinic.
