BLACK ROCK, AR (KAIT) -

A free concert will serve a dual purpose by bringing the community together and help a non-profit organization.

A free gospel concert is set for Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Black Rock School Cafeteria at 6 p.m.

The Tiptons will headline the evening's entertainment at 6 p.m. with other live bands playing at 5 p.m.

Admission is free, but concert organizers ask each guest to bring a non-perishable food item.

The Butterfly Ranch will help at the concert and, in return, they will receive the food donations.

There will be concessions available also for donation, along with door prizes, and a moment to honor our country’s veterans.

The Black Rock Alumni Association plans to have a booth at the concert to promote their alumni banquet in July.

The concert is free thanks to a number of sponsors including House-Gregg Funeral Home, Bryan Funeral Home, Cox Funeral Home, Pizza Hut in Walnut Ridge, Mullen Abstract and Insurance, Renee’s Café, M & M Sales in Imboden, Bud Jones Used Cars, State Farm, Casa Lopez, Fears Funeral Home, Cavenaugh Auto Group, and Wortham Funeral Home.

Organizers said this gospel concert event is a way to keep the community together while also making great use of the former Black Rock School District buildings.
