JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Officials with one Jonesboro convention center project said it will have a 'rooftop artisan cocktail garden' and it will be the tallest building in Northeast Arkansas.
Planners with the Hyatt Place Convention Center Project announced Monday some additions to the plans for the convention center and hotel that will be built along I-555.
Even though little work is done at the site, Chris Keller, who is leading the project, said plenty is being done behind the scenes.
Keller announced that the hotel will add another story, making it the tallest building in this part of the state.
It will also have a rooftop venue for cocktails and entertainment.
"It will be complete with a rooftop garden, outdoor fire pits, covered seating, and the finest liquid artisan bartending specialists in this part of the country," Keller said. "In addition, we will host seasonal entertainment and musical performances. The roof of the Hyatt will be the place to be after 5:00 p.m. in Jonesboro."
Once construction begins, Keller said it should take between 16 and 18 months to complete.
He said they have already been getting booking requests for events in the spring of 2018.
