JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - While a woman sold a cross at a Jonesboro pawn shop, police say her friend helped himself to a case of rings.
The alleged theft happened Friday morning at Jewelry Pawn, 1600 S. Caraway, according to the initial incident report.
An employee, who reported the theft on Tuesday, said while she bought a gold cross from a named suspect, the woman's male friend reached behind a glass display case and removed a box of rings.
She placed the value of the rings at $2,700.
Security video reportedly showed the man remove each ring and put them in his pocket. He also took the case holding the rings.
Then he left with the woman who sold the cross.
Using the information provided by the pawn shop, the investigating officer called the female suspect who said she did not know the man but provided the officer with a nickname and a possible address for the man.
She also reportedly told the officer she "did not want to be involved in this."
