JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A number of summer camp opportunities may be just what your child needs to get out of the house this summer.

The Arkansas State University Summer Camp Academy has upcoming camps for princesses, knights, and chefs in training.

Princess Kaylison Williams along with Danielle Williams and Amanda Albersman joined Diana Davis on Midday Tuesday to talk about the opportunities available for Region 8 kids.

Princess in Training camp and Knight in Training camp is July 11 through July 15.

Pre-K through second grade princesses come from 8 a.m. until noon and the knights in the fourth through eighth grade visit from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

When asked what it is like to be a princess, Williams said it is a lot of work but fun.

"It's being brave and being smart and being kind to others," Williams said.

Princess in Training will teach those characteristics.

If royalty is not for you, perhaps getting down in the kitchen is.

The Young Chefs Academy is also in July.

Danielle Williams said it is more than just cooking.

"In the academy they are doing cultural things," Danielle Williams said. "We are tasting different things. We are doing a tofu recipe, some vegan things."

Albersman said the cooking camp is very hands-on with kids learning how to chop and use the oven.

These camps cost $100 to register.
