BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Blytheville police cited an 18-year-old man for endangering the welfare of a minor Tuesday after a 3-year-old boy was found walking alone in the street.

The child was seen in the area of Ruddle Road and Parkway.

According to Captain Scott Adams with Blytheville police, a woman found the boy around noon and tried to take him home.

After she couldn't find the boy’s parents, the woman posted a photo of the boy on Facebook, then took him to the Police Department.

According to Adams, the mother arrived shortly after, claiming that she last saw her son asleep when she left for work Tuesday morning and left him in the care of her 18-year-old brother.

The man came to the station stating he last saw his nephew asleep around 10 a.m., and he noticed the boy was missing when he got out of the shower around noon.

Police notified The Department of Human Services about the incident. ?
