Missouri man killed in rollover crash

CARTER COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - A crash killed a Missouri man Wednesday afternoon in Carter County.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report states Brett Rinehart was driving south on Route V, at around 3 p.m.

Troopers say the 20-year-old man, of Ellsinore, MO, ran his 2001 GMC Jimmy off the road.

It caused the vehicle to overturn, and Rinehart was thrown from the SUV.

The report states Rinehart was not wearing a seatbelt.

Carter County Coroner Erik McSpadden pronounced him dead at the scene by 3:30 p.m.

This is the 17th death for the year so far. That is higher than this time in 2015 when Troop G reported 9 fatal crashes.
