JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police investigated an aggravated burglary Friday evening after a man reported several men stole his television at gunpoint.

According to the incident report, the victim said 4 or 5 black men knocked on his door in the Garden Manor apartments.

The victim told police he recognized the men and that they live nearby, so he let them come in.

Once the suspects were inside the house, the victim said they all showed firearms.

One of the suspects, who appeared to have a broken leg or foot with a boot on, sat on the couch while the others unhooked the television.

The report stated the suspect with the boot “reached down into his boot, pulled out a firearm, cocked it and put if back into his boot.”

When police arrived, they knocked on the suspects' door, then heard a loud noise from inside.

Around back, an officer found a window open and one of the described suspects running from the apartment.

The police officer chased the suspect to Cedar and Pine Streets, where he jumped into a tan Oldsmobile that sped off.

The report states the officer revisited the suspects' apartment where he found a man wearing a boot, like the one described by the victim.

Police asked if he had the reportedly stolen television inside and the suspect said he did.

He told police his “homeboy” gave the television to him, but he couldn't remember his name.

Police say the man’s story continued to change until finally, he admitted to being in the victim’s home.

He said the victim gave him the television. Police later returned the TV back to the victim.

Police have not arrested anyone in this case.
