LEPANTO, AR (KAIT) - 3:16 p.m. Monday UPDATE: Arkansas State Police are now investigating a Poinsett County home invasion that ended with one man shot.
Lepanto police officers requested the assistance of special agents of ASP's Criminal Investigation Division following Sunday night's incident.
Fabin Anderson, 36, of Lepanto, was shot during the incident which happened about 9:25 p.m. at a home in the 400-block of Thompson.
He was taken to a Memphis hospital with undisclosed injuries.
As many as three people may have entered the home, according to Bill Sadler, public information officer for ASP.
Police in Poinsett County are searching for 3 dangerous suspects after a shooting late Sunday night.
According to Lepanto Police Chief Chad Henderson, a man was shot in his home on the 400-block of Thompson Street in Lepanto.
Chief Henderson told Region 8 News officers received the call around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police said the 3 men entered the home and shot the victim.
Chief Henderson said a 10-year-old child was in the home at the time of the shooting.
The victim is at a Memphis hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to his hip. The victim's condition is not known.
As of early Monday morning, the suspects were still on the run. Chief Henderson says they should be considered dangerous.
Henderson said officers with the Lepanto Police Department, Arkansas State Police and deputies with the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office talked with neighbors and possible witnesses to confirm more information.
Arkansas State Police has taken over the investigation.
