JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police arrested a man early Monday morning they say had both a gun and drugs with him.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of Flint Street and W. Jefferson Avenue.

According to the police report, 18-year-old Patrick Deshun Weaver was stumbling as he walked, prompting officers to stop him.

During a pat down, police found a Lorcin .380 with one bullet loaded in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine.

When asked about the gun, Weaver told police "his homeboy gave it to him."

After consenting to a search, police discovered a plastic baggie of a white, crystalline substance in Weaver’s front pocket.

The report states Weaver changed his story multiple times, stating “the pants aren't mine, I borrowed them from my cousin because they matched my outfit.”

He later admitted to officers that he pops pills and smokes weed.

Weaver was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearm and carrying a weapon.

He is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.
