WEST PLAINS, MO (KAIT) -

A slithering creature caused Missouri residents to be without power Monday morning.

According to Facebook post from the City of West Plains, a black snake caused a short at one of the community’s substations around 1:20 a.m.

The post said most of the town had been restored within minutes.

However, the northwest part of town spent about two hours without power while crews worked to find and repaired the damage.
