BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged a Calico Rock man with public intoxication and attempted burglary after they say he was found prowling around a house in the nude.
Just before midnight Tuesday someone looked out their window and saw David Joshua Burkhart, 31, wandering around the yard of their home on Kingswood Boulevard.
Burkhart, according to a news release from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, was "naked."
When deputies arrived, they found Burkhart "without any clothing on."
They also found that he had pulled two window screens off the home in an attempt to gain entry, the report stated.
Burkhart told deputies he had been camping at nearby Lake Norfork and had wandered up to the house.
Deputies arrested Burkhart and took him to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on the following charges:
- Criminal attempt to commit residential burglary-felony
- Public intoxication-misdemeanor
- Disorderly conduct-misdemeanor
He is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond awaiting a June 30 circuit court appearance.
