BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

An elderly woman was hospitalized Tuesday night after police say two men kicked their way into her home and robbed her at gunpoint.

The 66-year-old victim told Blytheville police she and her 99-year-old mother were at their home in the 2900-block of Golf Links when two armed black men kicked in the back door.

The woman said the men pointed weapons at them then dragged her around the house while they looked for items to steal.

She described one of the suspects as being 6-foot tall with a slender build and the other as being short and wearing glasses.

The two men stole the woman’s wallet and money before running away, heading south.

The woman was taken to Great River Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, according to an email from Captain Scott Adams, commander of the Blytheville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

“Although incidents in this area are uncommon, we encourage everyone to be observant and report any suspicious activity,” Adams said. “We are asking that if anyone has home video that may have captured the incident or the offenders, or has observed the offenders to please contact the Blytheville investigation division.”
