Crash involving hazardous material closes road

FULTON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - One man was injured in a crash that spilled hazardous chemicals across the road near Viola Wednesday morning.

According to a report from Area Wide News, the crash happened on Highway 62/412 around 7 a.m.

A truck driver reportedly hit a tree while going around a curve.

The truck was hauling nitrogen that began leaking heavily after impact.

Crews shut down the road while a hazmat team from Memphis cleaned up the hazardous materials.

The truck's driver was sent to the Fulton County Hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.
