JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Arkansas consumers are feeling more optimistic about the economy, which could contribute to higher spending for the second half of the year, according to the third release of Arvest Bank's Consumer Sentiment Survey completed in March.
The report, released Tuesday, found that Arkansans anticipate making large purchases because of low unemployment rates, lower interest rates and the possibility of later inflation.
Arkansas consumers also increased their savings from September to March. That rate rose from 13.9% to 16.4%.
