JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

KAIT and the Jonesboro Radio Group will present the Freedom Fest fireworks display in Jonesboro.

The event will kick off Monday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. at the Southside Softball Complex on Red Wolf Boulevard.

The event is free and open to the public.

Gates will open at 7 p.m. and will be conducted by members of the 875 Engineering Battalion of the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Police will man 17 different intersections of traffic throughout the event.

After the fireworks display, all traffic exiting the Southside Softball Complex will be forced to exit north.

Northbound traffic on Caraway Road and Stadium Boulevard will not be allowed to turn east or west off of Caraway, or west off of Stadium, until traffic reaches the Highway 63 Bypass unless you live in the neighborhood you are attempting to turn into.

Police remind citizens that shooting personal fireworks at the complex or anywhere in the city limits is prohibited. Any violators will be cited.
