JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are investigating a grave case of vandalism.

Just before 8 Friday morning, the general field superintendent for Shannon Kee Construction reported someone had entered a Caterpillar parked at the Jonesboro Memorial Cemetery, 3910 Harrisburg, and damaged it.

The man said when he and his crew arrived to continue clearing brush on the north side of the cemetery they found the Cat had been driven to the tree line.

The suspect, according to the initial incident report, then used the Caterpillar’s boom arm to pull down a tree.

The toppled tree apparently fell onto the equipment’s cab, damaging it.

The superintendent, who had recently replaced a cab on another piece of equipment, estimated the damage at $30,000.

At this time, there are no suspects.
