Thief breaks into apartment through ceiling

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Police are investigating the Friday morning burglary of a Jonesboro apartment.

It happened in the 500-block of East Roseclaire while the victim said he was at work. The man reported the incident just after midnight.

According to the Jonesboro police report, the victim's landlord called him and told him it appeared someone broke into his apartment.

The man came home and found a large hole in the bathroom ceiling, which is how the suspect supposedly got inside.

The victim told police the thief took several items inside his home and stole his car.

The suspect reportedly took the car key that was sitting on a dresser.

The victim advised police that the apartment had been broken into before he moved in also.

He told police that someone busted through a storage closet connected to the home during the first burglary.

Police found a large hole in that closet also.

The landlord said she saw two women knocking on the man's door between 8:30 and 9:30 Thursday night.

Jonesboro police are still investigating the burglary and have not established a suspect at this time.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
