Lyon inks Idrogo for upcoming season

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Lyon College volleyball head coach Ray Green announced the signing of Valeria Idrogo for the upcoming 2016 fall season, on Monday.

Idrogo is a Lonoke, Ark., native who will serve as a utility player for the Scots this upcoming season. Green said Idrogo has all the tools to succeed at the collegiate level.

"She is able to do a bit of everything from passing to serving to attacking," Green said. "I have watched her play for a few years and I'm impressed at how much she progresses in a short amount of time, which is a testament to her work ethic and coachability."

Idrogo attended Lonoke High School where she participated in volleyball and track for the Jackrabbits. As a track athlete, Idrogo received honors running in the hurdles event at the Arkansas State track meet.

Idrogo has also been very active outside of the classroom and gym for several years. She has been involved with National Honors Society, Math Club, Band, Spanish Club, Student Council and Bilingual Club. She has also received awards for completing community service hours.

"We are happy to have Valeria joining our squad this fall," Green said.
