Woman found with drugs, child in vehicle

CLAY COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Clay County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman early Sunday morning after they found drugs in her car with a child.

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, a deputy stopped the car Karen Jestus, 48, was in around 1:30 a.m.

The deputy realized Jestus had a felony warrant for her out of Dunklin County.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found marijuana cigarettes, prescription pills, and other drug paraphernalia including several bags of white, powdery substance.

Jestus was taken to the Clay County Detention Center and charged with possession of cocaine less than 2 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and endangering the welfare of a minor.

The child was turned over the DHS custody.
