PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

The Paragould Fire Department is checking a school after smoke was seen.

According to Chief Kevin Lang, his department is at the Paragould Junior High School looking for hot spots in the building.

Lang says the fire is out.

No one was hurt.

Smoke was seen coming from the building as crews arrived, according to Lang.

The official cause of the fire is being investigated, however, Lang says it appears the fire started from an outlet in a home economics classroom.

Firefighters put out the fire in about 10 minutes and contained it to the classroom.
