Building collapse forces street closures

Kansas City (MO) - Fire crews in Kansas City worked to clean up after a large building collapsed Wednesday morning.

Crews evacuated the area and surrounding buildings, as well as blocking off several surrounding streets.

Firefighters performed a cautious, but fast check of the building to make sure that no one was inside.

The Kansas City Fire Chief said there was "a distinctive bow in the building."

The city's Dangerous Buildings Department is investigating the structure.

Officials said no one was injured in the incident.
