West Memphis woman arrested for Medicaid fraud

WEST MEMPHIS, AR (KAIT) - A West Memphis woman was arrested for Medicaid fraud, according to a press release from Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge.

The Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit arrested Andrea Jefferson, 26, of West Memphis, who turned herself into the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office.

She was arrested on one felony count of Medicaid fraud.

The release said that Jefferson is accused of billing for services she did not give in April 2015.

The services totaled $469.28.

Jefferson was cited and released.

She is scheduled to appear in Pulaski County District Court in August.

This case was referred to the attorney general's office by the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General.
