JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A motorcycle ride with a twist plans to raise money for the Miracle League of Jonesboro.

Ride for a Miracle Sports Run will benefit the Miracle League of Jonesboro and its efforts in adding a soccer league.

The ride is Saturday, July 16, with the first bike leaving at 10 a.m. and the last bike returning by 3 p.m.

The event will begin at the Miracle League Complex, 5000 South Caraway Rd.

It will be different from a normal ride because it's sports themed.

At each stop, there will be a sporting event where riders will receive points.

The first stop is at the Trumann Sports Complex where riders will throw horseshoes.

Harrisburg is the second stop where riders will test their NASCAR knowledge at Gavin’s Downtown.

Participants will make three more stops following Gavin’s before returning to the Miracle League Complex.

Gavin Grubbs, Miracle League Ambassador, stopped by the Region 8 News studio to explain how the Miracle League gives joy to not only the players but also the volunteers.

"The volunteers there are having just as much fun as the kids because they get to see the kids happy," Grubbs said. "The kids that are playing baseball, some of them for the first time in their lives that they are able to play baseball. It's so amazing for them."

Entry fee is $20 per participant. Cash prizes will be awarded.

Sharron Turman, director of the Miracle League, also stopped by KAIT, and said there will be other opportunities to donate money at the ride.

"It's kind of like a mulligan in golf, and if they get to a place or a sport that they've never done before and they completely bomb, they can buy a do over for $5," Turman said.

She said riders may be surprised by all the sports they have planned.

Sponsor space is available at stops and on t-shirts.

For more information contact Turman at 870-882-5430 or Eric at 870-243-6300.
