JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

The victims of an attempted residential burglary told police the suspects reportedly posted their plans on social media.

A 26-year-old woman said she and her boyfriend were asleep in bed at 6 a.m. Monday when three young males attempted to break into their apartment in the 3700-block of School Street.

Her boyfriend then ran outside to confront the would-be burglars, according to the initial incident report.

But, one of the suspects pointed a small black pistol at the man and, because he was unarmed, the man jumped back.

The victims said the armed suspect fired three to four times into the air as he and the others drove away in a gray Pontiac passenger car. The investigating officer did not find any shell casings at the scene, the report stated.

The female victim told Officer Cory Medley that her neighbor saw on Facebook where someone had posted a list of people’s homes that they wanted to rob. The male victim’s residence was reportedly the second home on the list robbed.
