JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A conference hopes to free Region 8 individuals from the things controlling their lives.

The Breaking Bonds Empowerment Conference is July 15 and 16 at the First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Jonesboro at the Wesley Hall Auditorium.

Friday's conference is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday's is 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Lori Bryant, spokeswoman for Breaking Bonds Ministries Inc, appeared on Region 8 News Midday Monday.

"The Breaking Bonds Ministry, their mission is to break free from bondage, and what they mean by that is to break free from your drug addictions, your alcohol addictions, your anger addictions, your food addictions, anything that is taking over your life," Bryant said.

This weekend's conference will focus on all of those things.

Bryant said after talking with the founders, Casey and Tiffanie Turner, she realized it was worth sharing.

"I truly believe in what they are doing and how they are helping people," she said.

Bryant said Breaking Bonds also sponsors a variety of programs and meetings that allow them to pray with people while also providing a food ministry.

Breaking Bonds also helps addicts get into facilities where they can receive professional help.
