HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) - Women living at the Restoration House in Harrisburg are using the summer to help the community with outdoor chores.
Ministry leader Chester Passmore said they are providing lawn services to community members while trying to raise money for their ministry.
"As we were looking at developing different funding opportunities, the idea of a lawn service came to us," Passmore said. "We could help both the ministry and help our community and people who may not be able to do their own lawn care."
The rehabilitation home, which can house up to 20 women at a time, relies solely on donations.
The ministry is providing services like landscaping, mowing, or even farm work.
Emily Tissiere, a resident who battled substance abuse for half of her life, said it means a lot for her to be able to help the community who has supported the ministry.
"It's amazing to be able to give back because I was once at the bottom and had nothing and I'm gradually being trusted with more responsibility, and I just want to give," Tissiere said. "It's my passion. I want to give back."
Tissiere said anyone in Harrisburg interested in having yard work done can contact the ministry at (870) 578-2604.
All of the proceeds go towards the Restoration House and their efforts to continue to change lives.
