Man caught violating sex offender registry act

MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) - Marked Tree police arrested a man Monday for violating the sex offender registry act.

According to Marked Tree Police Chief Jerry Lung, Joel Thomas Jenkins was violating conditions of the sex offender registry by creating a social media account.

When confronted, Jenkins denied owning the social media profile, which is a direct violation of the level 3 sex offender act.

Jenkins was bound over to Poinsett County Circuit Court on a $5,000 bond.
