JONESBORO, Ark. (7/14/16) – The Arkansas State volleyball squad recently concluded its Lil' Wolves Camp Wednesday night with a great turnout from kids entering grades 2-6 this upcoming school year.
The three-day camp was held nightly from 5:30-8:30 p.m. July 11-13 on the second floor of the Arkansas State Health, Physical Education, and Sports Sciences (HPESS) building. The campers received instruction and training in all phases of volleyball from the A-State coaching staff and players.
"We had a really great time at this camp and a great number of kids come out," A-State head volleyball coach David Rehr said. "It's very important to our coaching staff and our team to get a chance to serve the volleyball community in Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas. This camp is always a fun one and it's important to be able to teach younger kids how to properly play the game and hopefully develop a love for the sport at a young age."
The next camp on the docket is the individual "All Skills" camp, which is set for July 21-23 at the Convocation Center for students entering grades 6-12 this fall. The camp is designed to offer campers a solid skill foundation in all areas of the game. Fundamental instruction will be provided for passing, setting, serving, hitting, and blocking. The camp will also include team and game situations and will cater to all skill levels while placing each camper in a group based on their level of skill. There is limited space remaining so sign up quickly.
The price of the individual camp for an overnight camper is $350 and includes three days of instruction, room and board, all meals, a camp T-shirt, and camp volleyball. The cost for a commuter camper is $300 and includes three days of instruction, lunch and dinner each day, a camp T-shirt, and a camp volleyball.
