1 dead, 3 injured in head-on collision

NEW MADRID, MO (KAIT) -

Four people in Missouri were involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash Thursday night.

Leo W. House III, 53, of Hayti died following the incident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. on U.S. Highway 61 just north of New Madrid.

Troopers state in the report Steven J. Cameron, 44, of Marston was driving a 1991 Ford Ranger north when the truck crossed the center line and struck House's 2008 Chevrolet Colorado head on causing the Chevy to overturn.

House was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passengers, Cynthia I. House, 54, and Leo W. House IV, 29, both of Hayti were transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious and moderate injuries, respectively.

Cameron was taken to the same hospital with serious injuries.

The report states all those in the Chevy were wearing seat belts. Cameron was not.

    According to Jackson County Sheriff's Captain Ricky Morales, 40-year-old Rickey D. Crawford Jr., of Tuckerman, was arrested in relation to the death of 33-year-old Amanda Michelle Crawford.
