JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Several Region 8 bikers with a heart for special needs children participated in a motorcycle ride on Saturday.
The Miracle League's Ride for a Miracle Sports Ride was held to help fund a new soccer program for the organization.
According to Sharron Turman with the Miracle League, the goal is to start the soccer program in the fall.
Riders had 6 stops to make across Region 8, and they participated in a sporting event before moving to the next stop.
Turman said having the bikers out there will show people the importance of the Miracle League.
"I want them to share the Miracle League with everybody they know," said Turman. "That has been our big drawback is getting the word out to all the special needs community. When they go to these different cities they will see the bikers and see our support out there."
The ride helped raise money for soccer goals, shin guards and other equipment that would be used for a soccer team.
"It's a beautiful complex," said Erick Woodruff, a Miracle League rider. "I think it is one of the best in the state of Arkansas. We have to support it in order to make sure our kids have a safe place to go."
