LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) -

New studies show many Arkansans are struggling to make ends meet, more than the rest of the nation.

According to a report by Talk Business & Politics, those results were shown in the National Financial Capability Study, which was released July 12.

The NFCS used four main components to reach their findings: making ends meet, planning ahead, managing financial products, and financial knowledge and decision-making.

Nearly one out of three Arkansans struggle with unpaid medical bills, experiencing overdrawn checking accounts or needing to resort to non-bank borrowing.

Arkansans also struggle with managing their finances, yet were above average in planning ahead for retirement and their level of financial knowledge.
