Council considers police pay proposal

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro officials were set to discuss a plan to give police officers raises Tuesday night.

During the public safety committee meeting, the council was asked to consider $852,006 in additional raises for police.

Mitch Johnson, the chairman of the police pay committee, addressed the council at the meeting.

He said that police pay is not something that should be discussed in just 10 minutes.

He suggested a special called meeting to address the plan.
